HOPE started from a simple belief: no one should have to go without the basics, and neighbors can do something about it.
Our story
Humanity Over Poverty Effort, Inc. (HOPE) is a new nonprofit corporation based in Angier, North Carolina, in Wake County. It was founded in 2026 to give practical, everyday help to people who are having a hard time.
We are just getting started. We are building HOPE step by step, starting with our own community, and we will grow as support grows.
Our mission
To provide general aid to people in need, including food, clothing, household goods, and help with bills, funded by grants, donations, and donated goods.
Donated goods are given out directly to families, and monetary donations are used to buy what families need most.
Suleiman Aqrabawi
Suleiman founded HOPE to help families in his community get through difficult times. He serves as President and leads HOPE as a volunteer.
Our no-salary commitment
The founder of HOPE does not take a salary. We want every gift to go as far as possible toward helping people in need.
Our status
Articles of Incorporation filed with the North Carolina Secretary of State in October 2026.
HOPE is organized as a North Carolina nonprofit corporation.
Federal tax-exempt status application coming soon. We will update this page as things move forward.
